Recently, earthquake engineering efforts have devoted much attention to the issue of seismic vulnerability based on the concept of seismic risk at which the loss degree is estimated for elements in terms of physical, economic and social losses. The question of seismic vulnerability of the built environment to earthquakes covers a very large spectrum of tasks. From these tasks, the main one is the probabilistic estimation of vulnerability as a basic loss element in the estimation of the expected seismic risk.
